NEW DELHI: A number of farmer associations and citizen groups, including the RSS-linked 'Swadeshi Jagaran Manch' (SJM), on Wednesday demanded that the scheduled meeting of the Genetic Engineering Appraisal Committee (GEAC) on Friday be called off. The groups fear that the central regulator on transgenic crops may take a call in favour of the commercial release of GM mustard during the meeting.
