Nagpur: Taking the Linseed omega-3 product chain forward through the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the Bhartiya Vidyapeeth Deemed University (BVDU) at Pune has fortified many other products with this amazingly useful fatty acid for the body. The university has now fortified cow and buffalo milk, ghee and chicken with omega-3. As an offshoot of the ongoing work, the university has also involved over 500 farmers for production of flax fibre for making linen.
